Fulfillment Comes After Fighting Your Internal Battles — It Starts With You

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.”- Marianne Williamson

What drives you? Are you a person that is self-motivated, or do you need help realizing how talented, special, and filled with purpose you are?

We are all unique beings who view life differently. For some of us, confidence comes naturally, while for others it takes a bit of prompting for our lights to shine. Whichever of those categories you find yourself in, one thing is certain: it all starts with us. We must want to be our best before we can become it.

These 5 tips can help you become the best version of yourself:

  • Know yourself

Before we can become our best selves, we must first who we are: a work in progress. We need to understand what our likes and dislikes are, what makes us tick, and our strengths and weaknesses. We need to embrace all that is good and bad about us. When we can identify our flaws, we will be on our way to correcting them in order to be the best version of ourselves.

  • Value Yourself

Consider yourself as special and valuable. When you begin to do this, you can inspire yourself and others to accomplish great things in life. You must realize that your presence in this world adds value to it, and the contributions you make can make a difference.

  • Set goals

You can’t go through life playing it by ear, there must be purpose to everything you do. Make plans, set goals and work towards accomplishing them.

  • Create a circle of support

In as much as we are self-motivated, there are times when we need the help and support of others to make it through each day. This help can come from family and friends who have our best interests at heart.

  • Find your happy place

Life can become overwhelming at times making us feel like we are drowning. We need to find what makes us happy and what makes us feel most at peace. Doing what we love plays an important role in us achieving our purpose in life.

I love to read and I’ve always been partial to books that motivate and inspire me to be the best I can be. A recent discovery of a volume of poems on Amazon has taken me through a tough time of self-doubt and low self-esteem. The struggle was real and I’m happy that I discovered this book.

One of the most important things to take note of is that we are constantly in a war with ourselves each day. Operating from a place of self-understanding is key in navigating the waters of life.

Each day we live, there is something new to learn and we should always be grateful that we have that opportunity to experience those lessons and learn from them.
